Indications:
Headache, migraine headache
Damp-wind-heat blazing up to the head and eyes area, with a headache that feels as if there is consistent pain in the “brain”
This formula combines taiyin and shaoyang herbs. Taiyin headache is accompanied by phlegm; shaoyin headache is accompanied by rebelling qi and coldness in the feet. The taiyin & shaoyin channels do not reach the head; the headache is caused by phlegm & qi stagnation in the channels.
Danxi states: dongyuan qing kong gao treats all kinds of headaches, specifically blood deficiency headaches and temple headaches. It treats shaoyang headache but should not be used for taiyang or jueyin headaches, also known as occipital headaches in English.
This formula can treat headaches, migraine headaches, chronic or wind-damp-heat headaches (called head-wind) and hyper-anemia headaches.
Applications:
Take after meals with warm water or take in paste form made by mixing granules with hot tea.
